Response to Intervention is often an over looked and under resourced area in public education. In my school and school district, the number of students falling into this category increases at an alarming rate every school year. To combat gaps in student learning, it is the job of both the RTI intervention teacher and the general education classroom teacher to implement successful, data-driven, research based resources to provide these students (often two to three grade levels behind) with a real chance to show progress in bridging the educational gap and get back on track to graduate. This donation will be used to provide invaluable resources in the subjects of reading and math to assist low socioeconomic students. These extensive hands on activities will improve the students academic growth and their performance on state assessments. I am also an ATPE member.
