Having a listening center in our classroom will allow for students to independently listen to stories during our literacy block. While listening to these familiar stories, students will be exposed to many examples of fluent reading, which is super important for all kiddos- especially English Language Learners! I want to provide all of my students with as much access to language and literacy as possible. Being read to is SO developmentally important and plays a HUGE role in becoming a reader. Students will also work on tracking print, building phonemic awareness, and active listening skills. Having these items will positively impact students for years to come!
