Our middle school students come from various backgrounds, some with extensive exposure to instrumental music and some whose only musical knowledge comes from the dedicated service of their elementary music teachers. Many come from low-income families and are unable to afford their own instruments. Our philosophy is that money should never be a reason why a child isn't in band so the school has a selection of instruments available for students to use throughout the school year. Unfortunately, some of these instruments are old and in a state of disrepair or we simply don't have enough to supply all the students that wish to play certain instruments. Our kids are eager to learn and willing to put in the hard work it takes to achieve mastery on their instruments.
