The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help my students experience forms of energy happening in their hands. For example they will experience gravitational potential energy, and elastic potential energy with the catapults. The catapults will be a fun way to model a ball moving from at rest to kinetically in the air and finally pulled by gravitational potential. With the glow sticks students will see chemical potential energy. They can see the potential of an object and its use or chemical potential energy. Students will see kinetic to electrical energy transformed in the wind up toys. Students will see the thermal and light energy transferred to electrical to thermal in the solar fountain. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving a real life hands on experiences of energy transforming before their own eyes.
