My students are in a PK - 8th grade building. Our school is working hard to bring up test scores and bring the best education to our students, by using best practices. My 6th grade students come from an urban setting and are considered high-risk due to their economic situation. I find that my students are determined to over come the challenges they face if they are given the materials and support to build upon their skills. Many of them are reading below their grade level but are learning to love books, primary sources, history and what they can learn from them.
