Students need reassurance, direct guidance, and clear examples when working on a difficult skill. This table would give my students and I the opportunity to work close together but also with enough space. At this moment, I have to ask them to sit uncomfortably in the floor, or squished around the table we have now. Our current table could seat 2 students comfortably and our small groups consist of 5 or 6 students. Our space is already full before we even add the materials we need to work with for each lesson. Most times, the students are fighting to keep their items together and lose the benefit of the focused lesson.
