In our class we often use technology to enhance our learning. We set up our reading and math blocks in a "workshop" model where some students are on computers or iPads while I work with individuals or small groups to give personalized instruction. The students currently use ear buds or used headphones from home that often don't work or they break. Some families can't afford to replace them as fast as they break. By providing headphones for classroom use all students can receive the benefits of our "blended education" classroom without having to worry if their headphones work or how they will replace ones that do not work. The headphones can stay plugged into the computers to reduce wear and tear on the computer jacks. If we can eliminate accessory concerns we can focus on the important stuff-- Learning!
