Each year I receive the names of 20+ students who will enter our classroom and make it a community for the year that we are together. These kiddos come with skill sets, interests and talents as varied as they are. I would love nothing more than to help engage them in these differences through a variety of ways including flexible seating. As each student is different so are their needs and learning styles. Educational Research as well as brain research has shown that students must are more engaged in the learning process when they are given opportunities to move and that is often not safely possible in the confines of a rigid desk chair. In the 21st Century classroom these opportunities can be found in the form of flexible seating options such as: active learning stools, seat cushions, rockers, balance balls and stability disks that allows for movement while students work. Please join us in providing these much needed tools for students to learn in the best environment that they are able.
