My 4th grade students are energetic nine and ten year olds. This means they often would rather work while sitting on the floor, instead of sitting at their desks in regular chairs. Generally, they are able to focus extremely well when they are allowed to sit in a place that they consider comfortable, such as the floor. However, they can have difficulty doing this because they do not have a stable surface to write on or a place to put their Chromebooks. I am requesting four innovative The Surf Portable Lap Desks so my students can have comfortable areas on the floor where they can complete their class or computer work. Each day, my students complete school tasks that require them to write on paper. They also use their Chromebook daily to work on literacy and math-related programs, including Compass Learning, Zearn Math and Flocabulary Reading. These programs are awesome because they are individualized and each student works on skills that are on their level, which is extremely beneficial to students who need more support or challenge. These floor lap desks will help my students focus on their learning while having an alternative place to sit. Thank you for taking the time to read my project idea!
