My eleventh grade students are often struggling with writing essays and research projects in their cramped desks. I introduced some different seating options last year and I saw a MASSIVE difference in so many of my reluctant students simply because they were now comfortable. Alongside comfort my students come to school many times without having eaten anything at all and many of my students do not have a lunch because of their schedule. I have become the snack hub for the students who have not eaten because hunger and learning cannot coexist. Knowing that when they come into my classroom they will be taken care of makes all of the difference.
