The pandemic and associated factors have been extremely stressful for students and staff members alike. The materials that I have requested will help promote mental health awareness and teach my students positive coping skills. For example, the paint will be used to make mental health banners every month. The stress balls and fidget toys will help to encourage students to use healthy coping skills. Games will be utilized to help develop rapport in individual and group counseling session. The ambience of the counseling room environment is a very important factor when students seek help. I assist students in need that require various levels of support, such as 504 services and Special Education. Since the pandemic, many more students display anxiety, depression, and have experienced significant losses, to name a few. These tools can help them to ground themselves when they are upset and learn healthy coping skills. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student well-being, you will ultimately help to increase their social-emotional development.
