Your donation to this project will help my students have access to a diverse set of mentor texts. Each week we will focus on a different theme inspired by Tara West's literacy program. She has scoured the world to find only the best books to compliment her program. Books that are inspirational and life changing. With your support I will use these books to guide my students to become close listeners, to learn how to ask questions about words they don't understand and to then write about their own experiences. These are the skills they will need to become stronger reader. They will not only learn to read the texts but comprehend what the authors message was or learn about the world around us. Going along with the beautiful mentor texts we will create art projects and fun crafts and experiences to enhance and create a whole brain experience. Through my guidence this year in kindergarten I hope to inspire my students to not only read books but to experience them.
