I teach students inK-3rd grade that are diagnosed with emotional and behavior disorders. Some of my students have an additional (secondary) disability such as ADHD. My students come from San Bernardino, California, which is an area of high poverty and low-income households. Our student's parents are supportive and work hard to provide basic necessities. My students have experienced (or are experiencing) unimaginable trauma that has deeply affected their academics, as well as social/emotional development. Despite all of that, my students come to class eager to learn, grow, and escape. My students have taught me the true definition of strength, courage, and perseverance. I simply want to do my best to help them reach their goals.
