These books are handpicked with developing a culture of acceptance and inclusivity in the classroom. I'm proud to say that this is only the start of a growing, ever-evolving, diverse classroom library. I have recently moved grade levels and a lot of my books are too high for my sweet little ones in 2nd grade. These fiction stories can guide students through the challenging emotions that they may face, introduce them to other cultures outside of their comfort zone, and encourage them to be life long readers. My hope is that students can use these stories to escape their lives and go to places that they could only imagine.
