My students are in third, fourth and fifth grade. Most of my students are one to two grade levels behind in their reading abilities. To improve their reading, we can use the document camera to read stories together as a class & annotate articles and texts. The long arm stapler will be used to put together spelling dictionaries that will enable students to become independent spellers and idependent thinkers. Hands on practice & close reading skills will improve students' reading levels exponentially. As a first year resource teacher, I was not able to purchase materials for my students. Working in a low-income district, students need supplemental materials and exposure to many experiences in order to relate to the curriculum. My students love learning and I want to teach them to love reading!
