Being bilingual is important in our classroom. The students love code-switching and being able to implement that with peers but also emphasizing their first language. Kindergarten is a time where we laugh, learn, and inspire others to grow. Each student is full of joy, laughter, and enthusiasm. These students find ways to connect to everyday life in the classroom by telling their own stories. 86% of the students in our grade level are classified as "economically disadvantaged" meaning they qualify for free or reduced-price lunch while another 30% are instructed in their first language of Spanish. In this classroom, we are family "somos familia!"
