My students are 6th graders from diverse homes and economic backgrounds. Many of them come from a large or growing family that poses challenges for parents to create learning opportunities at home. Our classes in Utah are huge and funding is low. This makes teaching challenging, not only academically, but managerially as well. Regardless, these 11 and 12 year old's have a large capacity and desire to learn, and absorb what I teach them like sponges!
