I teach fifth grade Math and Science to over 40 students at a Title 1 school. My students receive free breakfast and lunch as more than half come from low-income households. Of my 45 students, ten receive ESE support and resources in addition to speech/language or occupational therapy. My classroom is a space where my students can collaborate with each other to facilitate learning. We value respect and the power of discourse. It is a two-way street in our room. I give them the tools they need to succeed and they utilize those tools to reach their full potential. By bringing innovative teaching methods and equipment into my classroom, we will be able to continue working together and reach new heights.
