Too often, STEM education begins with an introduction to engineering and technology concepts starting in middle school. While any exposure to STEM is good, research study on STEM education has shown that students who experience STEM education EARLY through hands-on learning are the ones who will be best equipped to develop a strong understanding of STEM concepts as they grow older. Our school has over 200 students and is located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. Over 80% of our students are on free or reduced lunch and one fourth of our students have special needs. The entire school's focus is on STEM. We pride ourselves on encouraging ALL of our students to pursue STEM-related careers.
