Students LOVE when teachers draw for them! In the classroom I would frequently use sketches, diagrams, and little cartoons to engage students, but also to make new or complex ideas more accessible to English Language Learners. In a digital classroom, I can always tab out and use an application like Paint or Google Slides to sketch something on the fly, but the problem is that it becomes difficult to monitor the class at the same time! A drawing tablet will help me engage students with an eye on the class! Redirecting and refocusing is key to maintaining focus, and they are most effective when they happen immediately. A drawing tablet will help me do that, while maintaining engagement through art.
