Since we will not be able to leave the room for specials or lunch this year the cushions will help in meeting sensory needs daily. With the switch from traditional desks to tables, storage has become a constant issue. The seat pockets will help with making materials accessible. It is important that students have access to material and are comfortable in their own classroom. By providing ease of access students will be able to grab what they need and get assignments done easier. Their things will remain attached to their seat. We will not be able to share materials and students will need a safe place to regularly store material. Meeting sensory needs will be important in maintaining the stamina and engagement of students. Some students will not need the cushions but making modifications to general seating will assure that no one stands out. The students will all benefit from the comfort of the cushions as they will not be able to leave their seats with the COVID guidelines.
