Students can better sustain focus and engagement when their bodies are able to move and shift and maintain a comfortable posture. I would love to be able to not have to interrupt the flow of a lesson to stop and say "sit safely!" The only seating options we currently have are stationary stools and traditional chairs. Students are constantly rocking back on 2 legs and sitting on their knees in these chairs because kids need to move, and this movement really does improve their focus. This movement in traditional seating options creates unsafe situations, and I have students falling on the floor daily. When students are engaged, but rocking back, I have to redirect their attention to their chair or stool and they lose their focus on the lesson. Active Kids Wobble stools and SoftZone Floor Cushions would allow my students to rock, wobble and adjust their posture safely, and stay focused and engaged!
