Many of my students love to spend time learning on their Chromebooks. There is no getting away from the fact that this generation of students loves their technology and tend to learn best when this medium is available to them. As inner-city students, many of them are preoccupied with the difficulties of their home lives, and as 12-14 year-olds preoccupied with their social lives, so finding any way to reach all of these students is a goal I'm always looking to achieve.
Chromebooks provide a way that can be tailored to reach each individual student and headphones will allow me to create unique experiences tailored to each type of student without disrupting each others' experience. Whether it's an informational YouTube video, interactive science activities, or just some music to help them focus on their assignments, headphones would be an enormous benefit for my students for years to come.
As a first-year teacher in a notoriously difficult school district, I spend most of my time and energy working to develop a nurturing environment for students who don't always feel cared for and who most of the time would rather not be in the classroom. Though I spend what money I can on my students, there is never enough money to go around, which is why I have setup this account for their benefit. I appreciate the consideration on our first project!
