Hi all. I'm an ESL teacher for the inner city in Tennessee. Our school is 80% Hispanic. Our classrooms don't all have Smart Boards and the ESL teachers I teach with we all share classrooms. In some cases we are stacked three teachers to a portable classroom and expected to work miracles with our children who in a traditional environment struggle on a daily basis as they have never been read to before attending school. In their home environment they are just a number and when older a babysitter. . As you can see from the picture of my space I don't have very much in the way of color or print rich materials because I'm a newer teacher but I WANT to do what's best for my students which is a start.
