Writing is a process - not an event. For 21st century high school students, this process must be as eventful as possible. Hence, Please Turn Write - a collaborative approach to culturally relevant writing instruction that respects how students learn and what they want to learn. PTW lessons are student-centered, skill-driven opportunities that allow students to read titles like To Kill a Mockingbird and/or The Hate You Give. The and/or is up to students enrolled in the course. PTW students will learn how to prepare written responses to texts that they care about so they may craft responses they care about.
