My Economics class is one of the last courses students must take before they become independent decision-making graduates. For most of my students, this course is their first and only opportunity to be exposed to the world of finance. Because of this, I see it as my duty to make sure all of them have the knowledge to manage their futures. In a school with a focus on health, many of my students have aspirations to enter the medical field in positions such as an OB/GYN or an anesthesiologist. My goal is to continue to prepare them to reach these ambitions by having them engage in college-level reading and writing. Freakonomics is the text I will be using to hold them to this high level of rigor and explore topics which will challenge them to critically think.
