I'd like to have a class set of TI-84+ calculators. The TI-84+ calculator can be a barrier for a student who takes AP Statistics. If we can remove this barrier, then the lower income students of MHS can experience the rigors of an Advanced Placement course. I make lots of instructional videos for my students, and having a calculator (in class and at home) is integral to be able to practice the skills needed for AP Statistics. Our high school is working to increase the AP enrollment for all students, but our community needs to see an increase in AP enrollment for the underprivileged student. Students who can't afford these calculators shouldn't be blocked from taking these classes.
