On a typical school day, students spend about six hours sitting in a desk. I don't know about you, but that sounds absolutely miserable! I have several students who struggle to sit still and tend to wander about the room as they work. This creates tons of distractions that can be taken care of by getting students out of their desks in a productive way! Flexible seating will not only eliminate unnecessary wandering, but it will also allow students to learn and work how they feel most comfortable, whether that be sitting, rocking, standing, or cross-legged on the floor. Pairing standing desks with balance boards will give students who tend to wander and fidget the opportunity to do so while still focusing on the tasks at hand. Like me, I have many students who like to work sitting on the floor, but they struggle to work on their laptops or papers. The lap desks will give them a stable surface to work on. For my gamers, the soft rockers will provide them the comfort of their homes, while allowing small movements to keep them focused during independent work time.
