Math can be a lot to learn for young minds, so having a Mindfulness or Zen corner will help relieve stress and anxiety that state testing may bring throughout the school year. I chose books that represent the diversity of my students as this will help them relate to mindfulness literature. Math is best learned when students are mindful and comfortable. The flexible seating options like the chair and donut ball will be a great addition to our classroom as it provides needed comfortability. These items will provide students with the freedom to sit in places that are most conducive for their learning habits. It will also help students practice posture and self-control as a bonus. Organization is a key part of success. By requesting storage carts, I will be able to distribute supplies and math manipulatives throughout the classroom that students can access independently in times of need.
