I have an outdoor classroom where students are immersed in nature during their weekly Nature Studies classes. We explore the natural history of plants, insects, birds, reptiles, mammals, watersheds, and ecosystems using all our senses and inquiry-based curricula. I bring in animal ambassadors to visit the students each year, including a rosy boa, a red-footed tortoise, 2 guinea pigs, a rabbit, and a bearded dragon. Our students are fortunate to attend a school that values learning about nature IN nature!

About my class
