These materials will help students become inspired for countless art projects. The world of literacy is a magical place that is an endless resource for students. By exposing them to different books and stories, students will begin to see their projects come to life! Literacy and the arts are a natural fit, by integrating the two you are opening up a child's imagination to all sorts of possibilities. I often start my lessons out with students on the carpet reading a book. We do this to either learn about a new artist, connect a core subject or gain inspiration. My younger students especially, are always glued to each page eager to see what we are going to create that day. Together we talk about the plot, illustrations and characters that could possibly inspire our next project. I often have students coming to me for more and more ideas they can create at home using some of their favorite books!
