This project will help cover the transportation cost and admittance fee so our students can go on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo. Our students will walk the grounds, gaining knowledge of a widely diverse environment close to their public school and community. The students will meet with an educator specializing in animals and get up close to some of the animals. Various animals and their habitats will be discussed and experienced by our three and four year olds. Pre-Kindergarten children learn best from real life experiences and impressions. My wish is that my students will get the opportunity to learn and interact with farm animals at the Children's Zoo section of the Bronx Zoo. One of the themes we will be discussing and learning about is Farm Animals. Key vocabulary and identifying specific animals will be also taught prior to the field trip in order to scaffold their learning. As a parent and teacher I would love for my students to be exposed to the smells, sounds, sights of the Bronx Zoo in addition to being able touch the animals. Thank you in advance for your consideration in donating to this project.
