Using dramatic play materials such as animal costumes, community helper costumes, pretend food, and baby dolls, a teacher can facilitate and teach both receptive/expressive language skills and vocabulary. Social skills such as turn taking and engaging in a shared activity improve. It provides opportunities to work one on one with a student or with a group of students in a fun and highly motivated environment. Not only are they able to learn from adults but also from their peers. Students are able to learn from one another in an active and engaging age-appropriate way. Preschoolers learn best through play!
