Students will use clipboards during large group instruction to practice letter, word, and sentence formation. Children will go on a scavenger hunt in search for letters and tricky words (sight words.) The Wikki Stix are a fun, tactile, and creative way to practice literacy skills and bring their imagination to life! Children will use the dramatic play materials to simulate a modern house complete with food, babies, dishes, and furniture. There is not enough pretend playing in kindergarten, it is a very important skill that needs to be practiced cooperatively with peers. These materials will support hands-on learning through play as well as the high literacy and writing demands of kindergarten.
