As a brand new teacher, I need to gather classroom library books and materials that will help my students foster a love for reading. The books I picked for this project include the Oregon Battle of the Books for 2019/2019 as well as a selection of books featuring diverse characters and situations. My goal is to find ways for all students in my class to see themselves in the books they read. I also want students to feel like they have a space where they can snuggle in and dive deep into a good book. The cushions and bean bag chairs will provide options for students who want to sit somewhere other than a desk.
