My students struggle with everyday sensory and noise, which becomes obstacles in their learning. Exposing my student to these items, provides them a safe environment to learn. Hands on projects combining visual, tactile, and verbal stimuli appeal to the learning characteristics of many of my students. Active learning is without a doubt needed to help my class remain focused, alert, and engaged. I plan on using the materials I asked for in this project to set up a variety of sensory stations that will give my students hands on learning experiences as well as stations where they can practice relaxation and calming skills.
