My school is a very diverse, urban school that is located in Oakland's Chinatown neighborhood. Most of the students in my 1st grade class come from low-income, immigrant families and a large percentage qualify for free-reduced lunch. Despite their challenges of being English Language Learners with limited resources, my students are a group of enthusiastic learners who hold a lot of potential for growth and success.
