The students really need a couple of iPads because we are in a technology world and getting comfortable using a variety of resources will only put them a step ahead in their future endeavors. Especially, since they aren't as exposed to technology as much as kids are in the bigger cities. Supporting these students means supporting our future. Many of the students are interested in the vlogging and youtube fields. Giving them a platform where they can safely learn the dos and don't's is key to learning safe practices when putting content online. To start, we want to use the iPads to create production teams in order to read books on video to our younger grades within the district and practice getting comfortable on screen. With the flexibility of movement and ease, along with, the many apps offered through the Apple app store, the students can learn to edit takes, add green screen effects, and potentially add sound effects to make the stories truly come to life for our younger learners. All of these skills can be utilized in many employment fields in their future. In the end, they will be more responsible web users and more confident in their ability to navigate the beast we call technology.
