There is nothing more incredible than sharing a story with your class and having them become excited to experience the next chapter. I make time throughout the day to have both independent reading and a read-aloud. Providing IRT allows my students to become better readers and to practice the skills they have been learning. Reading aloud provides an opportunity to model fluency as well as to share the events of the story with them. I am in my second year of teaching and my library does not meet the needs of my fourth graders. I am asking for your help to fund our classroom library. A library that provides a variety of genres and lengths that will challenge my students and encourage them to read. Until we return to the classroom, I plan to publish my reading-aloud to students via pre-recorded videos on Dojo. This will allow them to watch and listen to a story in their free time. Thank you very much for the opportunity to create Jordan’s Library.
