I am teaching English, Language Arts, and Reading for 2 groups of third graders. The students work hard but many of them struggle both at home and in school. I have students that are dyslexic, special ed, ELL and 504. These students are some of my hardest working students. Other students are homeless, being raised by grandparents or other family member and many are dealing with home lives that make it hard to focus on their school work. Each student comes to school with a mind already full and here at our school we strive to make them feel loved, safe, and successful while in our care. Our school is a very diverse school with a variety of ethnicity and backgrounds. Some families arrived here due to displacement because of natural disasters, others for jobs, and others have lived here for generations. It is a wonderful place to go to school and work!
