Our STEAM laboratory is just getting started. On a daily basis I am cleaning, repairing or updating a dingy basement storage room into a bright and welcoming learning space. I'm currently making the most of my lessons with ancient curriculum and office supplies. The LEGO Education sets will provide a fresh opportunity for every student, K-6, to design, build, learn, and engineer. One of the tenets of STEAM is the focus on design thinking. Using LEGO for creating solutions gives limitless engineering opportunities for students of all ages. Using LEGO as a design tool puts students on the same level. They are all limited by the structure and function of the pieces. A student working on problem solving won't be constrained by poor craftsmanship (like when constructing with paper).
