I work every day with middle school students in our new Maker Lab. It is a place where students gain new skills while working with a variety of materials. With those skills, they can come up with and create their own projects. From design to construction, testing and re-design they follow the engineering design process. When students create objects that they choose, the work of school becomes play. When my students play hard, learning is intense and deep. This is project based learning at its finest.
