As a kindergarten class, we spend most of our time seated on the floor. The students need a comfortable, durable and big space to learn and play. Additionally, they need a visual and colorful approach to mark each student's personal space that will help them to stay focused during the class.
Currently, the carpet in our classroom is fraying on the borders. This distracts my students during the lesson and makes seating space more and more uncomfortable every time. Also, the carpet has little squares not suitable to accommodate a student in each of them. My students are constantly invading each other's personal space and confused about where to sit. This distracts them during the class and makes routines, like "turn-and-talks," very long and disengaging.
This carpet will help us to have a soft, open and inviting space to sit during our time at the board. Also, it has colorful and roomy squares for them to have their own space to play and learn. Additionally, I like the way the squares are divided into rows. This will help students to do the "turn-and-talks" more efficiently and in an organized fashion.
