My students learn to read in Spanish, the bilingual program is new in our school and we don't have enough books in Spanish for our students to read and learn. Having these books in my classroom library will definitely make a big difference for my kids, especially during integrated literacy hour. During our integrated literacy hour, the students will use the books to identify problems and solutions in literature, identify characters' responses to problems and ask and answer questions about literary texts and informational texts. My second graders need fables and folktales in Spanish, these books will be a good resource for my students, the goal is that my kids will be able to recount them and to identify the central message or moral. The books will also help my students to learn to identify the setting, characters, theme, problem, and solution of the stories.
