My students have been asking for these books! The library does not always have the books they want or enough of the books they want. Students will get to practice reading in class with these books. Students will practice comprehension strategies that we learn throughout the year such as making connections, wondering, looking for details, visualizing, and making inferences. When books are high interest, students are more engaged in reading comprehension. Students' discussions are deeper because they like the books. Having deeper discussions can also lead to better quality in writing.
