My students are endearing, eager to learn, and want to do their best in school. They have speech and language impairments, and because of this they can be quiet, shy, and reluctant to participate in class and social situations. Students with speech and language impairments can struggle with producing speech sounds, learning and using new vocabulary, using and understanding complex or simple sentence structures, answering questions, understanding figurative language, or participating in conversations. My students also come from an urban community and don't always have access to the same language building experiences that other students their age do. They need extra support from our school's team of teachers and from donors like you!
