I teach in an alternative-by-choice high school for at-risk students in grades 9 - 12. The academy offers self-paced individualized academic programs with flexible schedules for students who, for a variety of reasons, don't fit into a traditional school setting. Our school has only one classroom. The classroom is a computer lab layout with 30 computers along 2 walls and around a peninsula in the middle of the room. We have 2 break-out/study tables in the center on each side of the peninsula.
