All 18 of my first grade students are learning to communicate. As adults we understand that not being understood is difficult, disheartening, and frustrating. Art is a wonderful tool for communication. My students may not have the skill to put their thoughts and ideas in sentences. Yet, they have the wonderful ability to show the world what they understand and feel with the use of art. The paper, paint, glitter, and stamps will be used as a source for communication. These materials will demonstrate what they understand and what they want to express without adding to their stress. Help my class find their "voice ".
