My goal as a teacher this year is to reignite my students' love for reading. I have discovered over the years that my students no longer read unless it is assigned. After speaking with my students, I discovered the main problems are choice, variety, and time. I have been able to provide them with choice and time in my classroom, but we lack variety in our classroom library. My students are finally becoming more interested in reading, but they need access to more books that appeal to them. Having a variety of books at their fingertips will encourage them to continue with their reading on a daily basis. With these carefully chosen books, students can continue to challenge themselves and keep their passion for books alive.
