I teach every class in my school, 4th grade through 6th grade. Every year in science lab, the students become engineers as they learn or review the engineer design process. Last year each class (28 classes) designed and made CDC compliant candy machines to get candy safely at school, because a lot of them could not go out to trick-or-treat. It was a HUGE success! The students loved it! The teachers loved it and asked me to teach the engineer design process the same way this year. I believe this will be an every year lesson. I only have one glue gun in my classroom for the students to share. I borrow a box cutter from our custodians. I teach the students how to use these safely, but there just is not enough supplies for the students. They accidently broke my teacher scissors trying to cut boxes. I'm buying glue sticks all of the time. All of the students at Westhills would really appreciate your help:)
